I also have a 2001 Chevy Tahoe that I purchased brand new and the dash hasn't cracked in nearly 15 years. The Tahoe, though older has better paint and dash materials than my much newer Yukon SLT. Paint quality is below average as it's easily scratched. There are issues with the power door mirrors retracting - they work when they feel like it. It has a 6 speed automatic transmission but the mpg could be better.

Defect: Over-pressurization can crack the fuel pump and cause leaks, increasing the risk of a fire in the presence of an ignition source.
Corrective Action: GM will notify owners, and dealers will replace the fuel pump, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin January 6, 2020.
